About Me
Crafts, Dogs, & Cats...OH MY!
Hello and welcome to Squishy Paws Crafts! My name is Gaby.
I am a crafter, rescue fur-mom of four "pawsome" dogs and two cats, and wifey to the most amazing human, Mr. Squishy (aka Josh).
Crafting started as a hobby during my spare time while working in the corporate world. I made crafts as gifts and sometimes even sold a few. In January of 2024, I was retaliatorily terminated from my job as a Corporate Trainer after almost two years of being bullied, harassed, and discriminated against. The termination came just two weeks after filing a complaint with HR regarding the Founders' inappropriate comments. My job search began immediately and crafting became therapy for my own mental health.
Even though I am bilingual and hold multiple degrees and certifications, including an MBA, my job search here in Texas has been painfully unsuccessful. I had promising interviews, but no job offers, yet. The more time passed, the more I delved into various crafting activities. It was during this time that I started watching and following various crafting creators on TikTok and a whole new world opened for me.
Even though I make various types of crafts, epoxy tumblers has been the most captivating. Most recently, I have extremely enjoyed making hand-painted tumblers of people's pets inspired by Warhol's Pop-Art. I like to call it...Pup-Art or Paw Art. Get it? Lol. It is a combination of two of my biggest passions, pets and artsy crafts!
TikTok didn't just help me explore new craft skills, it vastly expanded my social network. It also became my saving grace and an opportunity to help cover some of life's expenses.
While I enjoy going Livestream, I enjoy watching and supporting other creators more, especially those that not only demonstrate creativity, but also show genuine kindness and a willingness to teach and support each other's growth. Many have blessed me with their reciprocity, and I am forever grateful.
